Michele Anderson has dedicated her personal and professional life to helping others. Over the past 15 years, she has continued to seek out opportunities to share her talents with her greater community. Whether it be through teaching rambunctious middle school students or helping families digitize their precious memories, she has maintained her passion for helping others share their stories.
Prior to joining History Creators, Michele received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication Studies from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Following graduation, she spent 8 years in education, where she taught English Language Arts with a focus in Secondary Education (grades 6-12). Throughout her teaching career, Michele enjoyed sharing her passion for reading and writing with children and young adults, inspiring them to find their own unique talents. Likewise, she enjoyed transitioning her skills gained as an educator toward her next big project, resume writing.
After working in public education, Michele transitioned to small business operation in 2018, where she served as the owner and operator of Michele Writes For You LLC. During her time as a resume writer, she collaborated with over 500 clients ranging from Metro Detroit to Hong Kong. Some of her favorite experiences involved clients finding their authentic selves and discovering new career paths. Some notable career transitions included: drone pilot, equine vet, and a tour guide for a haunted resort.
Michele’s areas of expertise included resume writing, content creation, LinkedIn optimization, interview prep, and application assistance. Aside from freelancing, Michele's writing skills have been utilized by several nonprofit organizations with a focus on providing career services to under-served communities.
Currently as a Photo Specialist and Social Media Coordinator with History Creators, Michele enjoys interacting with clients and finding ways to preserve their family history. She has worked on large-scale projects for local families and institutions, and her work has even been featured in a recent documentary! Additionally, her biggest joy is bringing old pictures back to life-specifically photos that may have been damaged or have seen “better days.” Being able to restore color to a faded polaroid or fix a massive scratch down grandpa’s face provides a great sense of satisfaction.
Outside of work, Michele enjoys diving into a good mystery novel, taking too many pictures of her cat, and discovering new parks around Southeast Michigan.
