🎁 What you get back:

Files are delivered as MP4 movie files, universally playable on any computer, smart TV, tablet, phone, or cloud service
We will label and date your movie file names
We can create up to one level of subfolders if the physical movies are labelled and grouped (ex: rubber banded together or in separate boxes)
We brighten the video in Apple Final Cut Pro
Files are provided on a USB or Thumb Drive (you choose)
We will work with you to ensure your USB can play on your TV

Every item is handled by myself or my partner Michele.
We've built this system after years of trial and error
Our process begins with Michele cleaning each film and handing it off to me
I then immediately scan the photo with our archival-grade glassless Retroscan Mark II scanner (retail $9,000)
This machine was designed for “Academy of Motion Picture Film Archives in Hollywood” (link)
The Retroscan Mark II is a sprocket-less scanning system, meaning it doesn't use the little "claws" that a projector would use to pull your film forward; the result is a scanning process that is very gentle on your film and will not result in the film breaking or "being eaten" by the machine

Choose any combination that's right for you. Use our online project calculator to get an approximate cost for your project.You'll receive a final quote before we begin work.

USB - $20 per

Plug into your Computer or TV for easy viewing. Price may vary depending on amount of movies. We'll provide a final quote before we begin work.

DVD - $5 per

We can usually fit 1-2 VHS or camcorder movies onto one DVD. We can fit 5-10 Super 8 or 8mm movies onto one DVD. We'll provide a final quote before we begin work.

What may affect your final quote:

If your film is blank/empty, we reduce the fee for that film to $3 (to account for the labor)
If your movies are short, we may be able to put multiple VHS tapes onto one DVD, saving you money

🎬 Service add-ons:

Expedited service (talk to us for a quote, varies on number of items and timeframe, may not always be available)
Leader tape repair - sometimes grandpa didnt add leader tape, which can cause first 10 seconds of film to be missing (add $2 per tape)
Delivery of digital copies as Apple ProRes files (add $5 per movie)
Adding title screens ($10 per movie)
Creating compilation movies with different scenes from different tapes OR pulling out certain scenes (hourly rate to be quoted)
Advanced foldering beyond subfolders...(hourly rate to be quoted)

You will ALWAYS be notified if there is a potential increase and you will have the ability to decline service.

The Process:

Request a Quote
Tell us about your project! Use the ‘Get Quote’ form to get the process going. We can give you a quote and answer any of your questions.
Securely drop off your items
We’re local. We’re flexible. Drop off your items at our Southfield location. You may also mail them or schedule a pickup.
Approve final quote
Once we have your items, we will send you a final quote. You approve. We get to work. You will be invoiced once the project is completed. You will pay the invoice and then pick up your originals and digital copies.

Jonathan Fouch and Michele Anderson

We're a family business. Me and my partner Michele handle every project. We focus on providing you with great service, craftsmen-like quality, and the security of knowing who is handling your items and where they are being stored.

We answer all of your questions. If there are specific wishes or requests, we handle that as well.

We use the best equipment and best practices to give you the best possible scan. We find that the little things - like hand cleaning every photo - make a big difference.

Most of our clients choose to drop off their items at our Southfield office, where they hand them off directly to Michele or myself.
